Elisa Fox is a young aspiring artist who was born on December 8, 1985. Despite being born in Colorado Springs, CO, to Elisa K. Fox, Greensboro, NC is home.
Her experience as an artist spans from various art contests to exhibitions as well as seven years of formal art education. Her design sense, artistic eye, and sensitivity to color and composition were first sharpened in Winston-Salem, NC while attending the University of North Carolina School of the Arts as a high school Visual Arts student. Elisa completed her studies at UNCSA in 2004 and spent her first year of college at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. After taking one year away from college, in the Fall of 2006 Elisa resumed her studies majoring in Painting at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Following graduation from UNCG in May of 2010 Elisa begin to pursue her dreams of becoming a Visual Artist by immersing herself in all types of environments that would provide extensive training and valuable skills needed for continuing a professional career in the arts.
Since then Elisa has been a featured artist in numerous exhibitions at the Center for Visual Artists in addition to one of the most prestigious art exhibits known to North Carolina -- the Green Hill Center's Collector's Choice and Winter Show (2010). Her work also appeared in Greensboro's goTriad when the African American Atelier celebrated 20 years in January 2010.
Elisa believes the swift rhythm of contemporary society has rapidly changed our lives, the way we think, and what we consider to be important. The natural, the simple, and the beautiful are usually all neglected or either forgotten. Elisa hopes to create a lasting effect on her viewers that can only be communicated from the very act of making a mark. In order to ultimately keep the true essence of life alive, she feels there is a continual need to paint the things which society is presently missing.
